✍️ Phrase (ফ্রেজ) কী?
👉 'Phrase'-শব্দটির বাংলা অর্থ হল পদগুচ্ছ। Phrase হলো দুই বা ততোধিক শব্দের একটি গুচ্ছ যা একসঙ্গে কাজ করে কিন্তু যার মধ্যে কোনো Subject এবং Finite Verb একসঙ্গে থাকে না। এটি বাক্যের একটি অংশ কিন্তু নিজে সম্পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে পারে না।
উদাহরণ: in the morning, a tall boy, running fast, to win the match।

👉 যে Phrase বাক্যে Noun-এর মতো কাজ করে, তাকে Noun Phrase বলে।
👉 উদাহরণ:
The tall girl is my sister।
I love a cup of hot tea।
She is a very kind person।
👉 চেনার উপায়:
1. বাক্যে Noun-এর কাজ করে।
2.'কে' বা 'কী' প্রশ্ন করলে উত্তর পাওয়া যায়।3.সাধারণত একটি Noun-এর আগে Article, Adjective বা Determiner থাকে।

👉 যে Phrase বাক্যে Adjective-এর মতো কাজ করে কোনো Noun বা Pronoun-কে বিশেষিত করে, তাকে Adjective Phrase বলে।
👉 উদাহরণ:
The girl with long hair is my cousin।
He is a man full of courage।
The boy in the blue shirt is my brother।
👉 চেনার উপায়:
1. বাক্যে Adjective-এর মতো কোনো Noun বা Pronoun-কে বর্ণনা করে।
2.'কেমন' বা 'কোন ধরনের' প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেয়।3.সাধারণত Noun-এর পরে বসে।

👉 যে Phrase বাক্যে Adverb-এর মতো কাজ করে Verb, Adjective বা অন্য Adverb-কে বিশেষিত করে, তাকে Adverbial Phrase বলে।
👉 উদাহরণ:
She sings in a very sweet voice।
He came in the morning।
They live near the river।
He worked with great effort।
👉 চেনার উপায়:
1. বাক্যে Adverb-এর মতো কাজ করে।
2.কখন (time), কোথায় (place), কীভাবে (manner), কেন (reason) — এই প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেয়।

👉 যে Phrase-এ একটি মূল Verb-এর সঙ্গে একটি বা একাধিক Auxiliary Verb থাকে, তাকে Verb Phrase বলে।
👉 উদাহরণ:
She is singing a song।
He has been working since morning।
They will have completed the task।
I should have gone there।
👉 চেনার উপায়:
1. একটি মূল Verb এবং একটি বা একাধিক Auxiliary Verb মিলে গঠিত হয়।
2.বাক্যে Predicate-এর মূল অংশ হিসেবে কাজ করে।
3.Auxiliary Verbs যেমন — is, am, are, was, were, has, have, had, will, shall, can, could, should, would — এগুলি Verb Phrase গঠনে সাহায্য করে।

👉 যে Phrase একটি Preposition দিয়ে শুরু হয় এবং তার পরে একটি Noun বা Pronoun থাকে, তাকে Prepositional Phrase বলে।
👉 উদাহরণ:
The cat is under the table।
The book on the shelf is mine।
She arrived before the meeting।
He spoke with great confidence।
👉 চেনার উপায়:
1. সবসময় একটি Preposition দিয়ে শুরু হয়।
2.Preposition + Noun/Pronoun এই গঠনে থাকে।
3.সাধারণত কোথায়, কখন, কীভাবে — এই প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেয়।
✍️ Infinitive Phrase ও Participial Phrase
👉 Infinitive Phrase:
To win the match is his only goal।
He has a desire to become a doctor।
She worked hard to pass the exam।
👉 Participial Phrase:
Running at full speed, he caught the bus।
Broken by the storm, the tree fell on the road।
The man sitting by the window is my uncle।
